Why do you want to join the Sparwood Public Library Association Board?
I believe that the library is an integral part of our community. Having board members that understand both the librarys importance and the community it serves will help the library run more effectively. I utilize the library weekly, sometimes up to 3 or 4 times a week. I value that it is a safe, wholesome place for my kids and want to see it continue in that way. As a homeschooling family, the library is an invaluable resource that I don’t want to see lost. I also believe strongly in quality education, opportunities for learning and situations that help children develop a love for learning. All these reasons are why I want to be part of the library board. |

Please provide a short biography.
I have been a Sparwood resident for almost 9 years, after being “that person” who said they would never move to the Elk Valley! I truly have come to love our town, community and especially our library. I homeschool our three boys, and we are all active in sports and community events. In my free time I love to run, especially on the trails our community is so great at maintaining!
The Board of Trustees needs people from a variety of backgrounds and with a broad range of expertise. Please list any special skills or experience that you believe will make you a strong Trustee.
I am very organized and structured. I currently serve on a board for an anti human trafficking charity, so I bring some board experience to the table. I am reliable, trustworthy and honest. I learn quickly and am able to plan and execute ideas well. |
